SUMMARY:MLPMD Point Intercept Aquatic Plant Survey 7/7/2026
DESCRIPTION:Onterra was once again on Mid Lake to perform the Point Intercept Aquatic Plant Survey on July 7th. This is the next step in the update of our Aquatic Plant Management Plan. \n While there are many aquatic plant sampling methodologies that have been developed and used over time (i.e.\, transect surveys\, biomass surveys\,SCUBA surveys\, quadrat surveys\, etc.)\, utilizing a standardized and repeatable point-intercept based sampling methodology allows data to be compared over time. The protocol uses a point-based sampling design\, with sites located on a geo-referenced sampling grid laid out on the surface of lake. Sites are sampled from a boat using a double-sided rake\, and information on depth\, substrate\, plant abundance and species identification are recorded at each sampling location. The consistent statewide effort of monitoring aquatic plant communities using a standardized methodology results in an enhanced ability to understand and manage them. For example\, monitoring data are used to assess the relative health of a plant community and guide management actions. \nFor more information follow this link Strategic Analysis of Aquatic Plant Management in Wisconsin \nMLPMD

SUMMARY:Weed Pick Up Update 7/12/2026
DESCRIPTION:An update regarding the Weed Harvester and conveyor. \nThe crew was able to fix the trailer conveyor last night and get it working. \nThe Weed Harvester was able to run this morning and pick up weeds without issue until being pulled in to park for the day with the last load. The engine again had an issue and is currently down. Joe was able to contact Industrial Repair and talk to the owner. They will be returning tomorrow morning to investigate the problem. \nWe realize the weeds are quite prevalent right now\, but please be patient with the Harvester Crew as we work through this issue. \nLanes were clear this past week and can be utilized for easier navigation. Find below the current 2026 EWM Survey for lane reference. \nThank you.
